1st BLOG!!

Hello and welcome to the very 1st Lyme Bay Coffee Co. blog from me, James Tulloch.

Over the coming weeks I hope to show why we don't need to get snobbish about coffee. We are used to having wine snobs telling us what we should and shouldn't allow to pass our lips. As coffee drinking becomes more and more popular perhaps we should make a rule…no coffee snobs.

Some of the subjects I will be learning about are:
• Planting Coffee
• Growing Coffee
• Harvesting Coffee
• Preparing Beans
• Shipping Beans
• Roasting Beans
• Blending Beans
• Grinding Beans
• Making Coffee!

In each of these processes there are so many variables that will each affect the taste it would be seem that too much emphasis on just the final step (making coffee) presents a lopsided argument. Of course that doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to make each step contribute as much as possible to a flavoursome cup.
I look forward to reading your responses and also any further contributions you can make where my own research perhaps lacks depth.
